Building an Active and Energetic Lifestyle is the New ‘Hype’!
As a working adult in Singapore, I can empathize with the challenges of living in a pressure cooker where competition is extremely intense. There is a constant fear of needing to excel to stay ahead. In this fast-paced country, we face tremendous pressure as we try to balance work, family, friends, and personal life, often resulting in feeling tired all the time. Finding effective ways to stop being so tired all the time is essential to maintaining our health and well-being.
Let’s dive deeper to identify some of the reasons behind our lack of energy and explore ways to stop being so tired all the time.
Understanding the Causes of Constant Fatigue
Not Eating the Right Food
Lack of nutrition is one of the main culprits. Our bodies require vitamins and minerals to replenish daily losses. However, due to our modern diet and lack of time and energy, we fail to consume the necessary daily requirements. Improving our diet is one of the key ways to stop being so tired all the time.
Insufficient Quality Sleep
Poor sleeping habits are another reason for feeling tired. Our modern lifestyle of scrolling through electronic gadgets before sleep blocks melatonin, disrupting our sleep patterns. Additionally, the blue light emitted from screens harms our eyes. Ensuring quality sleep is essential among the ways to stop being so tired all the time.
Modern Lifestyle
Our sedentary lifestyle, where we seek satisfaction from watching dramas and social media instead of working out, eventually leads to fatigue. This is due to the deconditioning of our bodies as we stop being active, resulting in less oxygen flow. Increasing physical activity is one of the effective ways to stop being so tired all the time.
Being Stuck in the ‘Rat Race’
Stress from being stuck in the rat race, where workloads keep piling up despite hectic days, leaves us unfulfilled and uninspired. Socializing with peers to compete can also leave us unsatisfied with life, leading to low motivation and energy. Reducing stress and finding balance are crucial ways to stop being so tired all the time.
Identifying Lifestyle Changes to Increase Energy
Lack of Focus
With the mind preoccupied with finding rest and sleep, focusing on work becomes secondary. We go through the motions without making meaningful contributions, adversely impacting our work performance.
Easily Irritable
If you find yourself easily irritable, it is a clear sign of low energy, as the mind struggles to find pleasure in life. Small issues can become irritating.
Poor Life Choices
Feeling lethargic often leads to poor choices. Instead of seeking achievements that can improve our lives, like working out, we opt for easy choices like watching Netflix and being a ‘couch potato.’
Low Self-Esteem
Having low energy makes us feel ‘small,’ as we lack the ability to reach our desired standards. Instead of progressing, we stay in our comfort zone with small dreams that do not significantly improve our lives.
Increased Possibility of Non-Communicable Diseases
Low energy means stress is taking a physical toll, increasing free radicals in the body. This heightens the risk of falling sick and developing non-communicable diseases.
In the long run, lack of energy and tiredness will ‘consume’ us, decreasing our pleasure and quality of life. We need to find solutions and remedies as soon as possible to prevent further degradation of our bodies. Finding comprehensive ways to stop being so tired all the time is essential.
Solutions for Reducing Constant Tiredness
Working Out
One way to stop being tired all the time and increase energy is through working out. When it comes to muscles, you either use them or lose them. Leading an active lifestyle also increases hormones that make us feel good and boost energy levels.
Meditation
Meditation helps clear the mind from stress. A few minutes of meditation and proper breathing daily can eliminate mental clutter, allowing positive thoughts to fill our brains, making us feel better and reducing fatigue.
Surrounding Ourselves with Like-Minded People
Positive vibes come from surrounding yourself with the right people. The people you work with and open up to affect your energy levels. Gossips and negative talk can break your self-esteem. If this happens, it’s time to find new groups or go solo to heal your energy.
Getting Sufficient Good Quality Sleep
Getting enough sleep is vital for your body to repair itself. Quality of sleep is crucial. No matter how many hours of poor-quality sleep you get, you will still feel lethargic. Silence your mobile phone, avoid using it at least an hour before sleep, dim the lights, and play soft background music. Do everything you can to improve sleep conditions. Your body will thank you with high energy for the new day!
Increasing Nutrition Intake
Nutrition is a key factor in stopping constant tiredness. While creating a healthy diet requires time and effort, making smart choices during meals by minimizing unhealthy foods and consuming supplements with carotenoids and antioxidants can combat free radicals. This is another of the effective ways to stop being so tired all the time.

Additionally, I am a real-life example. Despite a lack of sleep and a stressful work environment, I, Alvin continue to work out and lead a healthy lifestyle through my diet and supplements, maintaining a high carotenoid level above 9.0. The supplement I have been taking since 2017 to maintain my carotenoid level and stop being tired all the time is Super Lutein, which contains six main carotenoids that make up 85% of our body’s carotenoids.
